Sika is delighted to have presented Action for Children with a cheque for £8,604 at their Welwyn Garden City office on 12th February 2020.

Having raised funds through the annual Sika Cycle Charity Event, Dragan Maksimović and Mark Gatrell, of Sika, were on hand to present the cheque on behalf of the company, to Sara Shearman, Fundraiser for Dorset, Devon, Somerset and Wiltshire. Sara has been fundraising with Action for Children for 11 years.

"Action for Children feels extremely privileged to have been Sika’s chosen charity for this event, and is very grateful for their support. We would like to thank Sika for inviting us to attend the weekend, and have the opportunity to meet so many employees, suppliers and customers, who have given so generously. The funds raised are going to go a long way towards helping children reach their full potential." Sara Shearman, Fundraiser for Dorset, Devon, Somerset and Wiltshire

"The work that Action for Children does is vital in protecting and supporting vulnerable children. I would like to say a sincere thank you to all the Sika employees, suppliers and customers who took part in the cycle charity event last October." Dragan Maksimovic, General Manager at Sika Limited

The sponsored Sika Cycle 2019 event took place on 12th October, in the surrounding natural beauty of Dorset’s Jurassic Coastline and the New Forest. This was the seventh event of its kind, and with a base in Bournemouth, participants took on one of four challenging routes in adverse weather conditions. The routes gave the riders a choice of 90, 60, 45 and 25 miles.

The fundraising is vital to Action for Children, the UK's largest, leading children’s charity. With millions of children living in poverty in the UK today, many face neglect and abuse. Action for Children works tirelessly to change this. Last year, Action for Children helped more than 387,000 children and families across the UK.
