How to waterproof a bathroom?
Sikalastic®-260 Stop Aqua is a tanking kit for bathrooms and wet rooms designed to protect walls and floors from water penetration. It creates a seamless, fully bonded waterproof barrier for under tiles, helping to prevent leaks and water damage in showers, wet rooms and around baths. The kit includes Sikafloor®-01 Primer, Sikalastic®-260 Stop Aqua waterproof membrane, Sika® SealTape, gloves and a roller.
For movement joints or wall to floor connection joints, apply Sikalastic®-260 Stop Aqua waterproofing membrane as an adhesive evenly over the surface with a roller. Seal the joint with the Sika® SealTape.
For floor drains and pipe penetrations, apply Sikalastic®-260 Stop Aqua waterproofing membrane as an adhesive evenly over the surface with a roller. Seal the joint with the Sika® SealTape.
For coating floors and walls, first apply Sikafloor®-01 Primer to the substrate. Then, apply Sikalastic®-260 Stop Aqua waterproofing membrane evenly over the surface with a roller. Wait 60 minutes and then apply a second coat of Sikalastic®-260 Stop Aqua.

Sikalastic®-1K ES is a cementitious waterproofing and concrete protection mortar that waterproofs bathrooms and showers before the application of tiles. It forms a seamless, flexible barrier that prevents water ingress while also protecting the concrete surface underneath.
Mix the product with a low speed (< 500 rpm) electrical mixer, ensuring that the mortar is homogenous and lump free.
If applying the mortar with a brush take care to evenly cover the entire surface. The maximum recommended layer thickness is 1 mm per layer. The application of a minimum of 2 or 3 coats is recommended (subsequent coats must be applied cross-wise and you must until the first coat is dry to apply the next coats).
If applying with a trowel the application must be done covering the whole surface of the substrate with uniform thickness. Press the trowel firmly against the surface. At least 2 coats must be applied with a final thickness of at least 3 mm. The maximum recommended thickness for each layer is 2 mm.

Sikalastic®-6100 FX is a waterproofing mortar that can be used to waterproof bathroom floors and walls. It provides a flexible and lightweight membrane that is waterproof at just 2 mm thickness.
Sikalastic®-6100 FX can be applied by brush, trowel or sprayed with suitable equipment. Roller application is possible, but not recommended. You must dampen the substrate before applying the first coat to ensure adhesion. Apply the first layer to approximately 0.5 mm thickness. Allow at least 2 hours of curing before applying a second coat. Slightly dampen the first coat, removing any excess moisture, and apply the second coat perpendicular to the previous coat. The second layer should be approximately 1.5 mm thick to ensure a total membrane thickness of 2 mm.

How to glue or seal glass elements?
Sika® Stixall® is a hybrid adhesive and sealant that provides a strong, waterproof bond and can be used in areas exposed to moisture making it ideal for bonding and sealing glass elements in bathrooms like shower screens and glass shelves.
Sika® Stixall® Crystal Clear is a transparent adhesive and sealant that provides the same strong, waterproof bond while remaining virtually invisible, making it ideal for glass applications and other areas where appearance is important.
Cut the tip of the cartridge, fix the nozzle, cut it to the desired size and apply with a standard sealant gun.
For gluing lightweight items, apply the adhesive to back of the item in one or two continuous beads and press it immediately into place. For gluing heavy items, apply the adhesive all the way around the edge of the item 30-50 mm from the edge and cover the back with beads of adhesive at 300 mm intervals.
If using as a sealant, first apply masking tape to ensure a neat sealing line. Extrude the product into the joint ensuring that it comes into full contact with the sides of the joint and avoiding any air entrapment. Within 5 minutes of application, tool the sealant firmly against the joint sides to ensure adequate adhesion and a smooth finish. Remove the masking tape immediately after tooling.

Sika® Clear Fix is a transparent grab adhesive for bonding items where a clean, invisible finish is required. It’s perfect for glass applications in bathrooms where final appearance matters.
Apply using a standard sealant gun. Cut the tip of the cartridge, fix the nozzle and cut an opening to suit the required bead size. For lightweight items, like coving and skirting, apply the adhesive to the back of the item in 1 or 2 continuous beads and press the item immediately into place. For bonding heavy items, such as plasterboards or wall panels, apply adhesive all around the edge of the item 30-50 mm from the edge and cover the back with beads of adhesive at 300 mm intervals. With heavy items always provide temporary support until the adhesive dries.

How to seal bathroom joints?
Sikaseal®-175 is a silicone sealant for bathrooms it is specially designed for sealing joints around baths, showers, sinks and tiles. It has very good resistance to mould growth.
Prime the joint surfaces as recommended in the Product Data Sheet. Apply masking tape where neat or exact joint lines are required. Insert a backing rod to the required depth. Open the seal on the top of the cartridge, fit the nozzle and cut it to the desired size. Insert the product into a caulking gun. Apply the sealant into the joint ensuring that it comes into full contact with the sides of the joint and avoiding any air entrapment. As soon as possible after application, tool the sealant firmly against the joint sides to ensure adequate adhesion and a smooth finish. Remove the masking tape.

Sika® Forever is a hygienic silicone sealant that provides a flexible and durable waterproof seal in humid environments. It is formulated to resist mould and discolouration, making it ideal for maintaining a clean looking bathroom.
Apply the sealant using a gun, ensuring that it comes into full contact with the sides of the joint and avoiding any air entrapment. Tool the sealant down within 15 minutes of application to ensure a proper bond.
If applying to a plastic or acrylic bath, first fill the bath half way with water and keep the water in it whilst sealing and during curing. This provides the midpoint of any movement that will be encountered.

How to level a bathroom floor?
Sikafloor®-200 Level is a cementitious floor levelling compound for smoothing and levelling uneven floor surfaces prior to laying tiles and other floor coverings.
Prepare the compound and prime the floor according to the instructions on the Product Data Sheet. To apply one layer, pour the prepared product onto the substrate and spread it evenly using a smoothing trowel, surface blade or screed rake to the required thickness. Allow the product to smooth over the substrate. Immediately use a spike roller to remove any trowel marks or surface defects.
If applying two layers, allow the first layer to harden and then prime the first layer with Sikafloor®-03 Primer or Sikafloor®-01 Primer diluted 1:1 with water. Apply the second layer. The thickness of the second layer must not exceed the thickness of the first.

Sikafloor®-122 Level Universal is a floor levelling compound that smooths and levels uneven bathroom floors before the application of tiles or other floor coverings.
Prepare the compound and prime the floor according to the instructions on the Product Data Sheet. Sikafloor®-122 Level Universal can be applied from a maximum thickness of 6 mm down to a featheredge. Pour the mixed product onto the floor and spread evenly with a steel trowel to form a thin, tight scrape coat. Immediately add further quantities of mixed product to leave a smooth finish (if not, trowel again when the surface is still damp but firm to the touch). If required use a spiked roller to provide a more uniform surface appearance. Additional layers, each not exceeding 6 mm, may be applied to achieve the required depth for your project. Prime with SikaBond® PVA+ diluted 1:3 with water between layers.

How to bond heavy objects?
Sika® Multi Stick is a high strength grab adhesive with incredible initial grab, high bonding strength and excellent adhesion to all substrates making it ideal for bonding heavy objects.
Cut the tip of the cartridge, fix the nozzle, cut it to the desired size and apply using a standard C4 sealant gun. For lightweight items apply the adhesive to back of the item in one or two continuous beads and press it immediately into place. For bonding heavy items apply the adhesive all the way around the edge of the item 30-50 mm from the edge and cover the back with beads of adhesive at 300 mm intervals.

EVERBUILD MAXIMUM TORQUE® is a high grab building adhesive that provides incredible initial grab (double that of most grab adhesives) and high bonding strength. It is especially suited for bonding heavy objects.
Cut the tip of the cartridge, screw on the pre-cut nozzle and apply using a sealant gun holding the gun at 90 degrees to the surface to be bonded. Apply the adhesive direct to the back of one surface only, in lines spaced at 30-40 mm centres. Immediately place item into position and secure with good, even pressure and with a slight twist action.

How to bond mirrors?
Sikaflex®-11 FC Purform® is a multipurpose adhesive and joint sealant that provides a strong, reliable bond for fixing mirrors to bathroom walls without the need for drilling.
After the necessary substrate preparation according to the Product Data Sheet, insert the cartridge or foil pack into a sealant gun. Apply the adhesive in triangular beads, strips or spots at intervals of a few centimetres each. Press the object firmly into place before skinning of the adhesive occurs.

How to prepare walls prior to plastering?
Sika® Blue Grit is an extra grip plaster bonding agent that creates a textured surface that improves adhesion for plaster on smooth walls and surfaces including tiles, glass, plasterboard and MDF. It ensures a strong bond for the plaster.
Use only 1 coat of the product. Stir well before use. Apply using a short pile roller or brush to give an even coating. Allow to dry for 6 hours minimum before applying plaster.

How to apply tile adhesive?
SikaCeram®-204 Medium White is a white tile adhesive suitable for fixing ceramic, earthenware and certain stone tiles in bathrooms. It provides strong adhesion, has no vertical slip and has extended open time.
Mix the product according to the instructions on the Product Data Sheet. Apply the adhesive using a notched trowel. Apply sufficient tile adhesive to the surface and to the back of the tiles, ensuring that enough adhesive has been applied to adequately wet the backs of the tiles. Press the tiles firmly into the adhesive to ensure full contact and a strong bond. Tiles must be fixed on freshly applied adhesive, if a film forms on the surface of the adhesive, it has been left for too long and you must remove it and apply a fresh layer to continue with proper tile application.

SikaCeram®-204 Rapid is a fast-setting tile adhesive designed for projects where a faster setting time is needed. It allows tiles to be fixed and grouted sooner, helping you complete your project more quickly.
Mix the product according to the instructions on the Product Data Sheet. Apply the adhesive using a notched trowel. Apply sufficient tile adhesive to the surface and to the back of the tiles, ensuring that enough adhesive has been applied to adequately wet the backs of the tiles. Press the tiles firmly into the adhesive to ensure full contact and a strong bond. Remove excess adhesive from the tile face and from between tile joints before it dries. Tiles must be fixed on freshly applied adhesive, if a film forms on the surface of the adhesive, it has been left for too long and you must remove it and apply a fresh layer to continue with proper tile application.

How to grout tiles?
SikaCeram®-690 Elite is a high-performance wall and floor tile grout that delivers a smooth, durable finish. It is stain resistant and easy to clean making it perfect for bathrooms, helping your tiles stay looking clean and fresh for longer.
Mix the product according to the instructions on the Product Data Sheet. Apply the grout using grout spreader, squeegee or grouting float/trowel. Completely fill and compact the joints uniformly. Using the same spreader/float remove excess grout from the tiles by moving the tool diagonally across the joints. When the grout is touch dry, in about 15-45 minutes, use a damp sponge to clean the tile surfaces. When the grout has set hard polish the tile surface by wiping with a clean, soft dry cloth.

How to clean hands and tools from sealant, adhesive and silicone?
Sika® Wonder Wipes are multi-use cleaning wipes that are specially formulated to clean hands, tools and surfaces from sealants, adhesives, paint, silicone and more.
Pull out the required amount of wipes from the pack and ensure to close the lid to prevent the wipes from drying out. When using on spills, use immediately for the best results.
