Sika®-1 waterproofing admixture is first used in Ireland

Sika Ireland Ltd is formed by Declan Carroll

Sika Ireland Ltd was established in 1995 by Declan Carroll as the Irish subsidiary of Sika AG in Switzerland. Initially focused on supplying concrete admixtures, Sika Ireland quickly became a key player in the concrete industry. The introduction of Sika® ViscoCrete® revolutionized the market by pioneering self-compacting concrete technology in Ireland.

Building on this success, Sika Ireland expanded into roofing solutions with the launch of Sikaplan® single-ply roofing membranes. The integration of HE Clissmann and Trocal membranes further strengthened Sika’s position as the leading manufacturer of flat roofing waterproofing systems in Ireland.

"Sika Ireland started in a half unit warehouse at No. 2 Ballymun Industrial Estate and quickly gained traction in Ireland with Watertight Concrete solutions for major basement car parks in the Dublin Docklands, Limerick, Cork and Belfast's Titanic Quarter. The launch of Sikaflex® sealants revolutionised the automotive industry, reducing drive-away times and establishing Sika as the leading automotive adhesives manufacturer. By combining global technologies with a local focus and a commitment to customer service, Sika has become a trusted leader in construction solutions across Ireland."
