What Monocouche Render Finishes are Available for Different Facade Requirements?
For projects requiring a specific monocouche render finish, Sika’s Parex range includes options such as Parex® MONOREX GM, a through-coloured, one coat, weather resistant and breathable decorative render available in a range of colours and finishes; Parex® MONOREX GF, which offers a fine grain finish with similar through-coloured, breathable and weather resistant characteristics; and Parex® Monoblanco, a bright white, one coat render suitable for vertical masonry and concrete walls. Finish options are subject to product guidance, substrate condition and project specification.
Parex® Monoblanco, Parex® MONOREX GF and Parex® MONOREX GM are also supported by independent approvals, including BBA Certificate 21/5888 and NSAI Certificate 05/0219, giving specifiers added confidence when selecting a monocouche render system.
Where a traditional dashed finish is required, SikaWall®-571 One Coat Dash Receiver can be used as part of a suitable render build-up. It is a factory-batched, cement-based render designed as a one coat dry dash receiver for masonry substrates. The product is through-coloured, available in white, magnolia, cream or grey, and can be applied by hand or pump. As with all render systems, suitability should be confirmed against the substrate, project specification and current product data sheet.
Monocouche Render and External Wall Insulation
Where improving the thermal performance of an existing or new building is a key objective, monocouche render can be used as part of a specified external wall insulation system or facade build-up.
External wall insulation places insulation on the outside of the wall. When installed correctly, the insulation system can help improve the thermal performance of the building envelope and reduce the heat loss through external walls.
