Shaping the Future Responsibly
Sika runs its business in a responsible way and mitigates climate change and its impacts.
TARGET: 12% reduction of CO2 emissions per ton sold until 2023
Among other things, CO2 is a consequence of fossil energy consumption, which can only be reduced by increasing energy efficiency. Sika is therefore working to achieve a climate-friendly future not only through its products and solutions, but also on its own production sites.
Climate Neutral Now
"Climate Neutral Now" is an initiative launched by UN Climate Change in 2015 to encourage everyone in society to take action to help achieve a climate neutral world by mid-century, as enshrined in the Paris Agreement.
Sika stands behind the objective to work towards climate neutrality by compensating its climate footprint in three steps:
- Measure their greenhouse gas emissions
- Reduce them as much as possible and
- Compensate those which cannot be avoided by using UN certified emission reductions (CERs)
With its sustainability strategy “More Value – Less Impact”, which was realigned in 2019, the company pursues the objective of creating lasting value for people and the environment, while at the same time adopting a moderate and sustainable approach to the utilization of resources.
