SikaShield® Anchor 400

Prefabricated universal bitumen roof connection point

SikaShield® Anchor 400 is a manufactured, preformed accessory that provides a secure, watertight connection between the roof structure or roof deck and the waterproofing membrane. It combines the performance of SBS modified bituminous roof waterproofing membrane as base layer and hybrid bituminous membrane as top layer. The top surface is coated with mineral granules which allows permanent exposure to UV radiation and the underside has a burn-off film for easy torch or hot-air application.

Usage

SikaShield® Anchor 400 is used as a:
  • Universal connection point for fixing roof-mounted products to exposed SikaShield roofing membranes

Chemical Base

Aluminium console. Rubber sealing ring. SBS and APAO modified bitumen cap-sheet, composite inlay, based on fibre glass matt and spunbond polyester, reinforced. SBS modified bitumen base-sheet, non-woven spunbond polyester fabric reinforced.

Shelf Life

36 months from date of production.

Storage Conditions

The product must be stored in original unopened and undamaged packaging in dry conditions and temperatures between +5 °C and +35 °C. Protect the product from direct weather exposure and sunlight. Always refer to the packaging.

APPLICATION

Application IMPORTANT Strictly follow installation procedures as defined in Method Statements, application manuals and working instructions which must always be adjusted to the actual site conditions. IMPORTANT Application by trained personnel The application of this Product must only be carried out by an applicator that is trained or approved by Sika. The applicator must also be experienced in this type of application. IMPORTANT Roof slope greater than 10° For projects with roof slopes above 10°, a suitably qualified structural engineer must determine the maximum admissible load. When used in conjunction with SikaRoof® Anchor Washer 140 the following design parameters apply:

Preconditions The M12 threaded steel section is made of stainless steel, to prevent the risk of bimetallic corrosion. Preliminary pull-out tests confirm the suitability of the fastener installation.

  1. Clean the SikaShield® membrane around the installation area.

  2. Fix the washer to the substrate with appropriate fasteners.

  3. Pre-warm the area around the washer (maximum diameter of 400 mm) in order to remove or embedding the membrane's mineral granules finishing.

  4. Screw SikaShield® Anchor 400 into the fastened SikaRoof® Anchor Washer 140.

  5. Hot-air weld or torch-on the lower edge of the bitumen base plate to the roof waterproofing membrane.

  6. Hot-air weld or torch-on the upper edge of the bitumen base plate to the roof waterproofing membrane.

Note: Use electric hot-air welding equipment (manual hot-air welding gun - Leister) or torch (small or detail torch) and a spatula in accordance to the relevant Sika application manual.
