What is a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)?
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a standardised method to assess and compare the inputs, outputs and potential environmental impacts of products and services over their life cycle. LCAs are increasingly recognised as the best way to evaluate the sustainability performance of construction products and systems.
Sika roofing LCAs are created internally by the Sika Technical Services Team using state-of-the-art GaBi software. All LCAs are carried out according to the ISO 14040 series and the Standard EN 15804.
Sika evaluates its roofing products and systems systematically with regard to environmental impact and contributions to sustainable construction based on regular and fully comprehensive Life Cycle Assessments.
