EVERBUILD® BLACK JACK® 907 SOLAR REFLECTIVE PAINT

A thin bituminous-based aluminium protective paint

EVERBUILD® BLACK JACK® 907 SOLAR REFLECTIVE PAINT is a thin bituminous-based aluminium protective paint of brushable consistency which dries to a silvery finish. The product is specifically designed for application over primed metal walls and roofs to reduce heat absorption.

Usage

As a light/heat reflective coating over:
  • Primed metals.
  • Bituminous coatings (to prolong their life).

Storage Conditions

EVERBUILD® BLACK JACK® 907 SOLAR REFLECTIVE PAINT contains a flammable solvent, and all normal precautions against fire must be taken during both storage and use. Store in original container in cool (5°C - 25°C) dry conditions. Keep away from sources of ignition.

6°C to 40°C (flash point). Surfaces must be free from ice and water.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, oil, grease and loose material.

APPLICATION

EVERBUILD® BLACK JACK® 907 SOLAR REFLECTIVE PAINT must be stirred prior to use and periodically during application.

Apply two coats by brush or mohair roller, the second coat being applied as soon as the first coat is dry (1-2 hours).

Over recently applied bituminous coatings, allow the following minimum period to elapse after the final coat has dried before applying this product:

Hot applied products - 6 hours.

Solvent based coatings - 3 days.

Water based coatings - 2 weeks.

Over bituminous surfaces, apply the thinnest first coat necessary to obliterate the black colour of the bitumen. The second coat should also be thin. Avoid ponding. When brushing, use soft bristle brushes applying the lightest pressure.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Tools may be cleaned by using white spirit. Any spillage should be wiped off surfaces before the bitumen paint has set.
