Sika® Igolflex® P-01 IT

1-part water-based bituminous emulsion primer

Sika® Igolflex® P-01 IT is a 1-part water-based ready to use bituminous primer. It improves adhesion and consolidation of the substrate prior to the application of thick bitumen coatings and bituminous sheet membranes.

Usage

The Product is used as a primer for the following substrates:
  • Concrete
  • Mortar
  • Masonry
  • Wood
Please note:
  • The Product is not suitable for potable water contact.
  • The Product is not resistant against permanent weathering and UV light.
  • Do not use for applications under water pressure or permanent water immersion.

Storage Conditions

The Product must be stored in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5 °C and +30 °C. Always refer to packaging.

  • Electric single paddle mixer (300 to 400 rpm)

Select the most appropriate equipment for all applications required for the project:

SUBSTRATE QUALITY

CEMENTITIOUS SUBSTRATES

The substrate must be uniform, dry or slightly damp, free from dust, loose material, surface contamination, existing coatings, oil, grease and other materials which could reduce adhesion of the coating.

  1. Remove weak surfaces and fully expose defects such as blow holes and voids.
  2. Carry out repairs and surface leveling using appropriate products from the SikaTop®, Sikadur® and Sika MonoTop® range of materials.
  3. Allow repair products to fully cure before applying the Product.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Clean and prepare the substrate using suitable preparation techniques to provide a clean, slightly textured surface.

APPLICATION

IMPORTANT

Strictly follow installation procedures

Strictly follow installation procedures as defined in Method Statements, application manuals and working instructions which must always be adjusted to the actual site conditions.

 

IMPORTANT

Exposure to UV or weathering

The Product is not resistant to permanent UV exposure or weathering.

Prior to application, confirm substrate moisture content, substrate and air temperatures.

MANUAL APPLICATION

  1. Apply the Product evenly over the surface with a brush or roller at the required consumption.

SPRAY APPLICATION

  1. Apply the Product onto prepared substrate using airless spray equipment.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with Sika® Colma Cleaner immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
