Sikaplan® Walkway-20 is a protection sheet made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) containing ultraviolet light stabilisers and flame retardants.

Usage

Sikaplan® Walkway-20 is used as a:
  • Protection sheet on an installed flat roof waterproofing membrane without ballast as a walkway for roof maintenance
Please note:
  • The Product may only be used by experienced professionals.
  • The Product has limited anti-slip properties, particularly in wet conditions.

Storage Conditions

Product must be stored in original unopened and undamaged packaging in dry conditions and temperatures between +5 °C and +30 °C. Store in a horizontal position. Do not stack pallets of the rolls on top of each other, or under pallets of any other materials during transport or storage. Always refer to packaging.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Substrate must be clean and dry.

APPLICATION

IMPORTANT

Application by trained personnel

The application of this Product must only be carried out by an applicator that is trained or approved by Sika. The applicator must also be experienced in this type of application.

 

IMPORTANT

Risk of damage due to extreme high or low temperatures

  1. Use of the Product is restricted to geographical locations with average monthly minimum temperatures above -50 °C.
  2. The permanent ambient temperature during use is +50 °C maximum.
  3. Observe the maximum and minimum temperatures of ancillary products.

Application below +5 °C

Note: Special measures may be compulsory for installation below +5 °C ambient temperature due to safety requirements in accordance with national regulations.

Note: Installation of ancillary products such as contact adhesives or cleaners is limited to temperatures above +5 °C. Refer to the corresponding Product Data Sheets.

Membrane application

  1. Roll out the Product.
  2. Cut the Product to the desired length and allow it to level out when placing in position.
  3. Leave a gap of about 2 cm between each section to allow water to drain.
  4. Weld the Product with hot air onto theSikaplan® roof waterproofing membrane.
