Storage Conditions

Storage temperature between +5 °C and +35 °C. Store in a dry place.

Opened containers must be closed immediately.

System Structure

SikaCeram®-250 StarFix Rapid is compatible with Sika® waterproofing products.


For porcelain stoneware tiles in exterior areas, use a SikaCeram® adhesive of class C2 S2 (EN 12004).


For grouting, use suitable grouts from the SikaCeram® line.


For swimming pool and spa applications, please contact the local Sika technical service.

Consumption

Consumption

The material consumption depends on the condition of the substrate, the type of ceramic material to be processed and the application technique. The following values may therefore vary slightly in practice:

Application steps

MIXING

In a clean container, mix with cold tap water for 3 minutes, lump-free and homogeneous. Use of a mixer with 600 rpm is recommended.


Do not mix more material than can be used within the pot life.

APPLICATION

Apply SikaCeram®-250 StarFix Rapid with a suitable notched trowel on the substrate, depending on the field of application or tile format also on the back of the tile (buttering/floating method).


Only apply as much mortar as ceramic tiles etc. can be inserted into the fresh mortar bed within the open time. Do not moisten the mortar bed with water.


Apply enough mortar so that the back of the tiles is wetted over the entire surface. Push the panels into the mortar bed and press them into place.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean tools with water immediately after use. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
