Sika® Cleaner G+P

WATER-BASED CLEANING AGENT FOR GLASS AND PLASTIC SUBSTRATES

Sika® Cleaner G+P is a water-based, alcohol containing, light blue transparent cleaning agent for glass, plastics and non-porous substrates. It can be used for the removal of finger marks, residues and general grime. The product leaves no residue on the surface, thus ensuring easy use and no need to re-polish the windscreens afterwards.

Usage

Sika® Cleaner G+P is used to clean substrates such as glass, plastic, paint surfaces and other non-porous materials. This product is suitable for experienced professional users only. Tests with actual substrates and conditions have to be performed to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.

Technical Information

IMPORTANT NOTE

Before applying Sika® Cleaner G+P to sensitive surfaces, test it on a small, possibly non-visible area of the base material to ensure compatibility. Before application of adhesive, the surface has to be prepared according to the Sika surface preparation recommendations.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Apply Sika® Cleaner G+P on sur­face and wipe dry with a dry, clean, lint-free cloth. Surfaces must be allowed to dry completely before initiating the next step in surface pre­paration.

Sika® Cleaner G+P Concentrate needs to be diluted with deionized water. The mixing ratio is 1 to 4, therefore 5 l concentrate need to be diluted with 20 l deionized water to get 25 l of Sika® Cleaner G+P.

How to bond a freshly painted vehicle?
  • New paints are difficult to bond as they are developed to be self-cleaning and repellent
  • Allow the paint to properly cure first (24h)

How to bond a windscreen to a FRP bodies structure?
  • If the old PU is still in place the standard procedure can be followed

Can I dilute Sika®Cleaner G+P?
  • It is not recommended to dilute chemical products as compatibility is not guaranteed and the composition is designed to achieve best performance already.

Why use Sika®Cleaner G+P instead alcohol or common commercial glass cleaners
  • Alcohol can react with the polyurethane and block the reactive groups which affect the curing and adhesion build up.

What shall I do if Sika®Cleaner G+P freezes?
  • Move the installation to a warmer place
  • Clean the glass in the warehouse before leaving for the mobile installation
  • Perform a dry cleaning of the bond line with Sika®Cleaner PCA
