Sika is Gold sponsor of the Japan Week

On February 6, 1864 the first trade and friendship agreement between Japan and Switzerland was signed. Because of this 150-year relationship, thanks to the Japanese Embassy in Switzerland, a program has been put in place in order to give insights into the culture, society, sport, education and business.

During the Japan Week (22 to 28 October 2014) in Bern over 1,000 Japanese artists provide a colorful cross-section of their cultural, craft and culinary traditions of their country and give visitors a vivid picture of Japan.

Strong position in the Japanese construction market

The excellent relationship with Japan at Sika has a long tradition: Sika has been present with its own subsidiary in Japan since 1932 and is well-known as a reliable partner for many landmark projects, having a particularly strong presence in the area of concrete admixtures and sealing & bonding solutions.

Only recently Sika has strengthened the position in the Japanese construction market by taking over a market leader in liquid waterproofing in Japan with well established brands and customer relations: As of January 7, 2014 Sika has acquired the remaining 24.5% of Dyflex HD Co., Ltd. and achieves 100% ownership.
