Sika Gives Dublin Airport a New Lease of Life
The old Terminal Building at Dublin Airport is architecturally one of the most important historic buildings in Dublin. Designed by Desmond FitzGerald and built in 1940, the concrete building was showing signs of decay and required repair and protection.
Sika’s MonoTop concrete repair system was used to repair all damaged concrete, and SikaDur 52 injection resin was used to repair cracks around sills and windows. SikaGard ElastoColor was then used as a high durability anti-carbonation coating to protect the building against the extreme weather conditions experienced at the airport.
